Internet Availability ...

Fixed Access

'No Geeks' offers all travellers broadband access via one of their 12 fixed computer terminals.  Charges are currently at £1 for 20 minutes access.

Wireless Access

A wireless broadband is available at Belfast Airport through BT Openzone.  This service provides travellers with the flexibility of remote working.

Passengers with a laptop and a Wireless LAN access card will be able to access data at speeds of almost ten times faster than a standard 56k modem.

The service is compatible with laptops or handheld computers (Wi-Fi 802.11b) and can be used to connect instantly to the internet once within these wireless hotspots.  Most computers have built-in wireless LAN (Local Area Network) card, and can be upgraded using a wireless networking card.

The service works through the usual web browser, optimised for Internet Explorer 5 or Internet Pocket Explorer.  Your device should run recent Microsoft Windows software.

Connecting to Wireless
  • Inside the terminal, turn on your wireless enabled device.  Modern laptops include the Intel Centrino wireless functionality.  Other laptops may require a separate card available at the airport's   Dixons store.

  • Launch the internet browser, select the preferred wireless network once the service has been automatically detected.

  • As normal enter your username & password to finalise connection.

  • If your wireless account isn't one of those offered through the airport then it's advised to sign up before travel
