Airport Parking At Belfast ... |
Belfast Airport has a range of car parking for travellers.
There's the short stay car park that's ideally suited for those persons collecting or dropping off passengers, or those passengers on short duration trips.
Or there's long stay parking that's recommended for those travelling away for more than a few days.
Long stay parking can offer parking in a car park situated further out from the airport where passengers will need to use the transfer bus for access to the terminal.
Or there is long stay parking in the form of valet meet and greet parking.
Meet and greet parking means passengers leave their car at a pre-arranged time with the meet and greet Rep right outside the airport terminal so passengers using this service can head straight into check-in.
Cars will be stored in a secure car park until the passenger's return journey when the car is brought to the airport terminal so they can get away home straight away.
It's the ultimate car parking service that's totally hassle free. Many passengers find this service ideal when travelling with children, disabilities or special needs. Also business travellers who are short of time, and those who are carrying heavy baggage.
Costs for meet and greet are very reasonable too. £83 for one week and £118 for two weeks, depending on the operator you choose.
Do however pre-booking your meet and greet parking service. |
| |
| Fast Track parking is another option available at Belfast Airport, based in the short stay car park. Prices start from £11.00 for 24 hours or part thereof. |

It is always advisable to head straight to check-in when you arrive at Belfast Airport. This way you have peace of mind you are confirmed on your flight, have seats together and that your bags are loaded. Leaving you to enjoy the pre-flight services offered by the airport.
It's best to check-in using the check-in time guide below as security has increased and so therefore so has the time it can take to check-in.

Type Of Flight |
Check In Time |
| |
Long Haul Flights |
3 HOURS before departure |
| |
European Flights |
2 HOURS before departure |

UK & Northern Ireland Flights |
1 HOUR before departure |
At the airport, before check-in, it's vital you keep all your baggage with you and do not leave it unattended at any time.
You must also never let another passenger look after your baggage, and likewise look after theirs. And under no circumstances should you carry anything else onto the plane for another passenger.
Immediately alert airport staff should you notice any unattended luggage or parcels.
Boarding gates are displayed on screens through the departure lounge. Once these are displayed do start making your way immediately as some can take, in large airports, up to 30 minutes to reach.
You can find more information on security checks between check-in and boarding the plane by visiting the Airport Safety and Security pages. |

Tips For A Comfortable Flight ... |
Turn your long and boring flight into a journey that's comfortable and bearable with our easy to use tips and advice.
Start by thinking carefully about what you'll need in your hand luggage - your medication, your valuables, what about decongestants if you've got a cold. What about, if you want to get some sleep, an eye mask and ear plugs. Pack some things to eat, even if you've got a meal booked as they can be small and you don't want to get hungry. And of course travel sickness pills if you are prone to suffering from this. Even a change of top and a toothbrush come in handy when delayed.
Pack some books and magazine too. You might also want to include your personal stereo in case you don't like the in-flight entertainment provided - normally a movie and some TV programmes.
Drink lots of water to stay hydrated so you don't get swollen hands and feet that's caused by the air pressure in the cabin.
It can get cold on a plane so wear, or tie round your waist, a warm item of clothing.
Importantly do take note of the Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) information we are about to tell you. DVT is a serious condition that causes blood clots developing in the veins of the legs that can be caused by long haul flights, as passengers have little or no exercise.
It's important to try and move around the flight as much as you can so try and get up and stroll down the aisle. Also you need to get the blood circulating so try stretching your legs and wiggling your toes and feet.
The Department of Health website - Click Here - offers information on how to prevent DVT and who is more at risk.

Staying Comfortable When Flying |
| |
1. Upgrade |
Business Class or First Class seats make for a very comfortable flight so ask for an upgrade. |
| |
2. Front Row Seats |
Or at check-in ask for a front row seat that's got extra leg room, or one by the doors as these are more spacious too. |
3. Aisle Seats |
Also for extra leg room ask if one of you can get an aisle seat. This way you can stretch out your legs plus it makes getting out of your seat a bit easier too. |
4. Pillow |
Sleeping on the plane can not only break up a long flight but also make you feel fresher at the other end so ask for a blanket and pillow. Also, if you really want some sleep buy an eye mask and some ear plugs that both do well to help passengers get some sleep. |
5. Painful Ears |
Painful ears during take off and landing can be very nasty so invest in some ear plugs that are on the market, like Earplanes, that help ease the pain by equalising air pressure on the ear drum. Also worth buying if you suffer from sinus problems too. |
6. Dehydration |
Flying causes dehydration so be sure to drink lots of water - take your own bottle on the flight. |
7. Snacks |
In-flight meals can be on the small side so pack something to eat for your journey. |
8. Anxiety |
Speak to your Doctor if you suffer very badly from flight anxiety. Alternatively try learning a few breathing exercises or try doing something that should take your mind off things - a good book or even a crossword. |

Travelling with Children & Babies ... |
Make the flight more bearable for your children, and this way the chances are you'll enjoy a good flight too!
Think about what they like doing at home and what keeps them occupied. Pack some reading book and colouring books - don't forget the coloured pencils! Travel games the whole family can play too are good.
Also remember that airlines normally give children a small activity pack , whilst this is helpful you will still need to pack extra things to keep them amused.
Have a go at taking it in turns to make up stories using objects on the plane - young children find this fun.
If you're flying with a young baby you will need to take lots with you to cover all eventualities: lots of baby food and formula milk - think about any delays you might experience. Also cold water sterilising tablets, nappies, a dummy, muslin cloths. Teething gels and rings. Also warm clothes as it gets very cold in the cabin, plus a change of clothes in case of any little accidents. |

Disabled Or Travellers With Special Needs ... |
Traveller with disabilities or special needs will find Belfast Airport well equipped to assist. However, do check that your airline knows you are travelling with a disability and that all costs are included in the price of your ticket.
If travelling in a wheelchair you might be asked to move into one of the airline's so yours can be loaded onto the plane. If this will cause you a real problem it's worth asking the airline before you arrive at the airport if arrangements can be made for you to stay in yours until boarding.
Special assistance vehicles can be pre-booked for use around the airport. These are very useful for passengers unable to cover large distances- this can include getting to the boarding gates that can be situated very far way. In bigger airports as long as 30 minutes away. |
